By the end of the trimester, in your "Media Design and Production" Google Drive folder, you should have:
A folder for each summative including:
the final version of each of your videos
a screenshot of your editing timeline (if edited)
Sign into Google Drive with your school email.
Click "+ New" then "New folder"
Name your folder "Media Design and Production" and click "Create"
Double-click on your new folder to open.
Once you are in your "Media Design and Production" folder:
Click "+ New" again then "New folder"
Name the folder: "1 - History of Media" and click "Create"
Double-click on your new folder to open.
Go the Canvas assignment for "SUMMATIVE: History of Media"
Click "Download ....MOV"
Drag the downloaded video file into your new folder in Google Drive.
Go back to the main "Media Design and Production" folder
Click on the "Media Design and Production" title, then "Share"
Under "General access" choose "Bethel School District"
Click "Copy link"
Click "Done"
Go to Canvas
Click "Submit Assignment"
Click in the text entry area.
On your keyboard, click "cmd" + "V" to paste the link.
Click "enter" or the spacebar to make the link a clickable blue underlined hyperlink.
Click "Submit Assignment"
Navigate to your Google Drive Folder: "Media Design and Production"
Click "+ New" again then "New folder" or right-click and click "New folder"
Name the folder: "2 - Camera Operation How-To Video" and click "Create"
Double-click on your new folder to open.
Locate your final video that you submitted to Canvas
Add to the "2 - Camera Operation How-To Video" folder.
Open Premiere Rush wherever you editing your video
Open the project so you can see the editing timeline
Take a screenshot
Add the screenshot to your "2 - Camera Operation How-To Video" folder.
Copy the link of your folder.
Go to Canvas
Click "Submit Assignment"
Click in the text entry area.
On your keyboard, click "cmd" + "V" to paste the link.
Click "enter" or the spacebar to make the link a clickable blue underlined hyperlink.
Click "Submit Assignment"
Navigate to your Google Drive Folder: "Media Design and Production"

Locate your PDF that you submitted to Canvas
Add to the "3 - Lighting" folder.
Navigate to your Google Drive Folder: "Media Design and Production"

Name the folder: "4 - Audio" and click "Create"
Double-click on your new folder to open.
Locate your final video that you submitted to Canvas
Add to the "4 - Audio" folder.
Open Premiere Rush wherever you editing your video
Open the project so you can see the editing timeline
Take a screenshot
Add the screenshot to your "4 - Audio" folder.
Navigate to your Google Drive Folder: "Media Design and Production"
Click "+ New" again then "New folder" or right-click and click "New folder"
Name the folder: "5 - Newscast" and click "Create"
Double-click on your new folder to open.
Locate your PDF that you submitted to Canvas
Add to the "5 - Newscast" folder.
Copy the link of your folder.
Go to Canvas
Click "Submit Assignment"
Click in the text entry area.
On your keyboard, click "cmd" + "V" to paste the link.
Click "enter" or the spacebar to make the link a clickable blue underlined hyperlink.
Click "Submit Assignment"
Find and open your "Media Design & Production" folder
Click "+ New" again then "New folder" (or right-click and click "New folder")
Name the folder: "6 - Video Ad (Composition)" and click "Create"
Double-click on your new folder to open.

These should be in Finder > Creative Cloud Files or on your Desktop

A demo reel highlights the best sequences of a filmmaker's previous work.
It is the best way for filmmakers to showcase their capabilities and creative competency.
Your reel should be presenting only your best work, not every project you have ever worked on.
Professional: 90 seconds - 2 minutes max
Edit your best shots in a fast-paced montage, set to music
Include at least 3 summative videos
Include background music and align transitions
The entire demo reel should be less than 30 seconds
Each clip should be less than 10 seconds
Include a "slate" at the end
Find a song you like and click "Download"
Move your downloaded music to your "Creative Cloud Files"
Log in to an iMac
Open Creative Cloud in your dock
Under the "Apps" tab, find Premiere Pro
Click "Open" to the right
Click "New Project"
Next to "Project name" in the top left, name your project: "Demo Reel"
Click "Home" > "Creative Cloud Files"
Locate your summative videos and select at least 3 of the following:
History of Media
Audio
Video Ad
Premiere Pro
Channel
Locate your music file and select.
Click "Create"
Arrange your videos so that you are starting with your strongest, most captivating work
Using the Ripple Edit Tool, trim your videos.
Align your video transitions with beats/transitions in the music.
Make sure nothing is selected.
Move your playhead to the end of your video
Create a text layer (Graphics and Titles > New Layer > Text)
Type the following:
Your Full Name
Video Production 1
2022-2023 Trimester 2
In the top menu, click "File" > "Export" > "Media..."
Name it "Last Name, Demo Reel" (ex: Hodges, Demo Reel)
Change the "Preset" to "Match Source - Adaptive Low Bitrate"
Double-click on the blue hyperlink next to "Location"
In the pop-up:
Click on "Creative..." (Creative Cloud Files) on the left toolbar
Click "Save"
Click Export in the bottom right corner.
Locate your exported demo reel in your "Creative Cloud Files" in Finder
Drag the video over to your Google Drive portfolio folder
Your portfolio should have 7 folders and your Demo Reel:
1 - History of Media
2 - Camera Operation...
3 - Lighting
4 - Audio
5 - Newscast
6 - Video Ad
7 - Premiere Pro
8 - Channel
Demo Reel
Go back to the main "Media Design & Production" folder
Click on the "Media Design & Production" title, then "Share"
Under "General access" make sure it says "Bethel School District"
Click "Copy Link"
Go to Canvas
Click "Submit Assignment"
Click in the text entry area.
