Camera Movements

• Dolly: camera is physically moved on a wheeled platform, either towards or away from the subject

• Pedestal: camera is raised or lowered on its tripod

• Truck: camera moves sideways, either to the left or to the right

• Pan: horizontal movement fixed on a tripod

• Tilt: vertical movement fixed on a tripod

• Zoom: digital or optical movement to change the focal length (unnatural)

• Arc: circular movement of the camera around the subject
